About the Founders
Scale-Up Marketing was founded by brothers Austin and Ryan Hammond, who grew up in the Richmond area watching their father build and run a small law firm. That firsthand exposure to the realities of small business ownership shaped our mindset early—and drives our commitment to supporting business owners across the Richmond metro area.
Our backgrounds span business, marketing, finance, healthcare, and neuroscience, with education from the University of Virginia and George Mason University. This mix allows us to approach marketing with analytical rigor and a real understanding of how people think, decide, and buy.
Before focusing on local businesses, we spent nearly a decade running a successful marketing company for e-commerce and product-based brands, helping drive millions in revenue across more than 200 websites. That experience sharpened our systems, strategy, and execution—and ultimately led us to bring those proven methods to service-based and local businesses.
Today, we lead a team of experienced digital marketers with up to 15 years of hands-on experience across industries and platforms.
